The reason I suggested the military-type sling, is the front loop becomes an arm loop for stability in offhand, sitting and prone shooting. It's almost like having an Ancheutz-type target sling as with provided sliders, they'll do a similar job as the belt-loop tightener on the match rifle sling, but then, also carry your rifle at the correct height for you while walking.
