My standard load is a 900grn doing 2050 fps. This load generates about 180 ft lbs of recoil at 32 fps recoil speed. Strong but not too bad in this rifle. As to metal in the chamber, that CZ 550 mag action easily handles the 600ok round as the head size is basically a 505 Gibbs. I absolutely love this rifle.
