Was running around the net,looking for components to build a DG rifle of sorts--a 404 bolt is sounding interesting vs 416, vs 458 and other calibers--This is different from other carry rifles I have built/ordered from components.

This thread is not about caliber per say so much as advise about features wanted for optimal function of a DG Bolt---I am assuming this is not primarily a scoped rifle--

Sure its easy to buy a "standard" one but how do you know your DG rifle ergonomics fits you?

Can certain features help shoot it off the shoulder repeatedly at speed?

What major features are needed for easy carry and rapid deployment of the rifle??

What type action do you want to start with and what critical action function parameters are needed??

What balance point should it have? Barrel length? Stock type?

Any and all/advice with the underlying reasoning is appreciated.
