I have been looking half hazardly for a pre-64--as I really want to build another custom big bore as well...spoke to a custom builder as the SCI show in Reno--he had used a Dakota action..which is what I had based my earlier statement in the thread on...it was awesome..gun was done by Mark Bansner. http://www.bansnersrifle.com/custom_rifles.html --a bit on the spendy side...but the gun was really nice...and balanced perfectly...

Looked at the Montana actions as well--which as supposedly a very good action however need quite a bit of work as well to get them in condition you would want for a custom gun...similar the way a CZ is when ititially purchased..at least the ones I have bought...

Hoppdoc--at that price you really could not get hurt too bad ---IMHO..if that is what you want, I would pick them up...
