I picked up a 1914 Enfield, re-barreled to 458 Win the other day. It is still in the white, has a massive front sight installed, and is full military at the receiver. It came with 50 virgin Winchester brass and a set of loading dies...all for a whopping $100.00. It shoots like a champ and feeds properly. I don't want to get burried in the gun but would like to make something useful out of it. Any suggestions as to a course to steer? Who does decent metal work on these at reasonable rates? I will probably have a Rem 700 contour done on the receiver...???...any better suggestions, as I have not been involved with a 14/17 conversion as yet. How about 458 Lott chambering? I bought a long magazine box from Numrich, just in case. |
