I have owned a CZ 550 in .458 lott and liked it quite well. I recommend getting the .458 lott so you can shoot either .458 winchester magnum or .458 lott. I now have the Ruger M77 Magnum in the .458 lott chambering. I love it. I love the caliber as well. I have been reloading for it and enjoy it even more. I took me a while to get used to the recoil. I asked for help in a forum here on NE. After doing some physical conditioning and shooting alot of smaller calibers along with the biggies I feel very comfortable shooting big bores. I did some upper body strength training and it helped tremendously. I have a .30-06 M77 and started shooting it alot for practice. I think you will like your .458 rifle. It is a versatile big bore, especially in the .458 lott chambering. Once you get your crimp right its nice to reload. Expect to trash a few cases setting the crimp. There are some lighter bullets to use for smaller animals and some 405 grain flat soft points the are inexpensive for practice too. Go for it! You'll love it... |
