I use my 9,3x62 for every and anything for 10 years now - my R93 weighs 2.8 kg ~ 6.2 pounds (without scope) and felt recoil on the range with 293gr RWS factory TUG's going ~ 2400 fps is stout - not so in the field.

Back in 06 I have shot a charging Cape buffalo with it - it took 1 286 gr Northfork FN and 2 300 gr Bridgers FN (along with 1 300gr Woodleigh from my PH's .375 H&H) - charge began from 13 paces and was over a couple of seconds later at 10 paces distance.

On that same trip I also took this eland - again with 300 gr Bridgers FN at 180 meters - eland made another 80 meters and died.
