My fault I misread the quote and thought i read it as light, mea culpa!


I do not know the cost of gun work in Australia and what price a stock can be had in laminate made by a stocker down under, it may be that with waiting time and shipping cost/taxes that would accompany a McMillan that it may be cheaper in the long run to have a stock cutsom made at home. that way you would get the fit around the chosen metalwork.

Here in the UK labour costs for stock work are high indeed, with a reasonable piece of walnut you would get little change for a stocking job with a reputable maker of below £1,500 and from a London maker a minimum of two times that figure and possibly more, and thats for starters, select walnut can cost £1000 or more just for the blank
