I have a friend who spent a couple of years in pre Zim Rhodesia during which time he worked for the Game dept., when he went over he took with him some .308 Hornady 220gr FMJ projectiles as he had been requested to. These were apparently inserted into 7,62x51 rounds that had had the military projectile pulled. What adjustment of powder or otherwise happened I don't know but these rounds were used in FN FALs for Ele culling, don't know if cows only or whatever. I'll be talking to him soon so I'll endeavour to check some more details out.
