My .505 wildcat has a 20" barrel, and I've never had a moment's trouble with it, nor with duplicating factory performance. In general, large caliber cartridges with heavy bullets are not a problem as far as muzzle blast is concerned. "Over bore capacity" cases are the main culpret in that department.
