Those Heym bolt guns are the best large bore hunting rifles I have had anything to do with. 505 will be an interesting addition. I would think they will move quite a few. Not sure what they sell for these days but that would be a fun combination. |

Yes, these rifles are VERY nice! i really like mine. It is very accurate and fits beautifully. the downside? well, not much really...... except long lead times from order to delivery and price. Would I buy another? You bet ‘cha!!!!!! |

Certainly looks very nice and in a great new cartridge. I have always had an interest in the 505 Gibbs. It seems that Heym go the extra mile when it comes to DG rifles. It is a pity that they don't also make a deer stalking rifle on the same type of action but scaled to suit the cartridge. Very nice. Thanks for posting the link. Waidmannsheil. |

Quote: G'Day Fella's, Thank You for the heads up on this 500, and the muzzle brake may help but 11 separate spinal injuries (7 in my neck), still has a lot to say about this. LOL? Avagreatweekendeh! Homer |

I’ve always wanted a Heym bolt gun in .600 nitro. Wouldn’t shoot it much but for some things it’s the having lol. I like rimmed cartridges in bolts. |

There are only 4 African calibres - for want of a better term - that I have lusted after. The 375H&H, 416 Rigby, 404J and the 505 Gibbs. I have the first two so don't see myself picking up a 404J and the recoil of the 416R is about my limit so do not, apart from cost, see myself acquiring the latter, though it would be good to have one and those Heym's sure look good. |

Quote: FYI, there was a great review by Phil Massaro in GunDigest 2017 (71st Ed.) of a Heym Express rifle in .404 Jeffery. Heym let him take it to Africa for a work-out where it accounted for a bull elephant, a Buff, and numerous plains game. Massaro used a mix of factory ammo and handloads during the safari. When he returned to the states, he promptly sent Heym a check for the rifle because he liked it so much. For .404 fans, or for anyone just interested in the Heym Express rifle, I can highly recommend Massaro's article, which also discusses the .404 cartridge in depth. Great pictures too. |

Hello Ripp, I had the opportunity to obtain a Heym Express in 404. I only can recommend it! If you happen to visit Germany, please make a short stop in Bavaria and be my guest to test it! best regards Rolf PS: The price tag of the Heym Express in 505 Gibbs is about 19 k €, if memory serves well. And beside that, I don´t like the color of the front sight, so I passed it :-) |
