That's really an issue you need to take up with the US F&WS, who seem to be almost as unpredictable as African governments. Mozambique has been trying to clean up it's act over the last couple of years, but the country has been such a super mega bugly stuff up for so long, it may well take the US F&WS a looong time to come to a decision. Probably the best thing you could do, if you've made up your mind to hunt Mozambique, is talk to someone who has one of the Coutadas. You might like to try Johan at Bahati Safaris, (www.bahati.co.za) and ask his opinion. - Johan runs a good operation, has been in the business for long enough to know what's what and he won't feed you any BS. As to whether you should wait..... my advice on that is no African hunting is going to get easier or cheaper and the sooner you go on your first safari, the better. One piece of advice I would offer, is that no matter what country you choose to hunt, you try to make sure you book with a good company that has operated in that country for some years and don't make price your most important criteria. Always remember that you can't buy a Rolls Royce for the price of a Ford, nor can you buy a Holland & Holland double rifle for the price of a Bruno...... and the same goes for buying a safari. - If you want a decent quality product, you have to pay for it, - and if you buy cheap, that's exactly the kind of product you'll get. |
