It is a little controversial, but I do believe the positives outweigh the negatives. Sure, some dehorned rhino have been shot, but this has been out of frustration as the poachers had no idea they were following hornless specimens. When the word gets out that all the rhino in a particular area have been dehorned, a poaching incursion into that area will be considered not worth the risk. Dave |
