Yes, it's interesting how much one pays attention to the ground and how you place your feet when hunting DG. I was constantly looking for a quiet place to put my boot onto. That takes a lot of concentration. However, we were hunting in grass over our heads and couldn't see our feet at times. Kind of a strange scenario.

As to snakes, there not usually an issue. Out of hundreds of hunters every year, I don't know anyone who was ever bitten.
