As a general principle of law, truth is an absolute defense to any allegation of libel or slander. And there is always a question on the bar exam about that. Conversely, an untrue allegation of felonious conduct or of a felony conviction is slander per se. Further, there are very few outfitters who would wish to have a reputation for suing clients, let alone the negative media attention that it would bring to the outfitter and its principals. |
