I like my Burris 1.75 x 5 Safari with posilock. The eye relief is supposedly 3.8-4.5 inches and I have never got whacked by my "semi-lightweight" 416 Rem mag at 9 pnds with scope.

NE450No2 is quite correct on shooting the gun.Pull the gun hard into your shoulder and have your head slightly forward to focus.Lean into the shot and use a shooting shoulder aid as well.When I don't do this big bores can hurt!!

Some of the new german scopes have more than 4 inches of relief but they will cost more than the gun!!
