Re: Removing oil and grease before hunting Africa

I picked it up at one of the gun shows here in Florida. The product is called Poly Pro-Tek Gun-Care. The company is WaterlessRus, Inc.

Their phone number is 888-788-9274. The website is www.reallycleanguns.com.

The stuff is easy to use and does not seem to wear off quickly.

1. shake the bottle.
2. apply to the surface and let dry.
3. buff off with a terry or microfiber cloth.

I have used it on my rifles and muzzleloaders. It will remove tarnish as well and make the metal "slick". I really like it on the bolts. It also resists fingerprints and the resulting tarnish from handling the barrel. No removed bluing on my barrels. The only downside is that it will make the metal shine more (a high polish). I cured the problem in Tanzania by wraping some camo guaze tape (pro form I think) around the barrel. Stalked within 30 yards, in open terrain, of three duga boys with the rifle slung on my shoulder. It should also cause water to bead off.
