Re: A cartridgebelt ? Are You a masochist?

For Africa I like the cartridge belt. 2" except where the loops are where it is about 4". No problems in the heat, easy to take the whole thing off when its time for the truck or lunch or whatever, equally easy back on. Mine has never become stiff or cracked and is just wearing in nicely after about fifty days of hunting with it. I have a seperate two round slide that fits on the belt to carry two softpoints on the opposite side of the belt from the loops and seperated by a small multi tool. I once unloaded from a walk for elephants and found a soft in one of my chambers so no softs in the loops anymore.

I keep my big bore ammo in the belt but my 375H&H ammo in two five round pouches; each tracker carries a pouch in case I should need ammo beyond what is in the magazine. If I were forced to carry the 375 for DG then I would carry the ammo too.

At home I like ten round pouches for rifles and a six round slide for shotgun slugs. The carriers go on a belt that also carries a knife and small diamond hone, a multi tool and a range finder. I can switch out the ammo carriers while keeping the rest of the gear on the belt.
