Several years ago I was hunting in Selous, near the Rufiji River and to this river I went to shoot a big Hipo. At this point of the river there was a lot of crocs and there're also some villages around the area. Next day after shot the hipo, all the team went to take him out the water and, as we thought, there was several crocs around the meat.
Without taking care of the crocs, a couple of our boys went into the water and I asked why aren't they afraid of crocs. They said that the witch doctor gave them a root which will protect them agains crocs. Ok, I said and they go to the hipo and tied a rope to his leg to pull him out.
Once the hipo out the water I saw a village man without an arm talking with the boys and I asked what happened to his arm. Well, he told me that he had eaten very few root and a croc bite him
