My guess is that at least part of the article is "mistaken"......esp as the author is a Brit and probably anti hunting....... They don't go into details about why this is happening but my guess is that the area has had it's designation changed from something like a controlled Hunting Area to something like a Game Control Area...... and if that's the case, it probably won't really make a hell of a lot of difference to the locals. They're not allowed to sell hunting licences anyway, despite what the article says. The Game Dept do that - however, they do get the Community Development Fee and I don't see why that should change. - Nor do I see why the possibility of the leasing safari company would stop developing the area....... if they did, they probably would lose the area...... But without further info, it's difficult to comment.

Regarding the CAMPFIRE project, I know it worked very well until a few years ago, but I'd guess that may well have changed since the country went pear shaped....... perhaps Ganyana or someone else could comment on that.......
