Re: NitroX's southern African odyssey!

Arrived back home last night, after a night in the city to get a few things done, including a much needed haircut!

The three flights to get home took over 24 hours in total including stopovers in two airports which isn't the most fun, however worth it in the end.

The hunting was great fun and I am now addicted to elephant hunting .....

Was good to meet various members including hunting with KarlS (Ndumo) in Namibia, meeting Jaco and staying at Jaco's house, meeting "Safari-Hunt", Andrew McLaren and also another member (Grant) whose 'alias' I am not sure of. Jaco provided us with a nice dinner at his house near Pretoria/Jo'burg. As always happens some members were off hunting or had emergency commitments but there are always future opportunities. Thanks to Jaco for organising the get together and also great to meet the other gentlemen.

Also had an interesting trip on the Southern Coast of the Cape which is a lovely area to visit, and very European in atmosphere rather than what one expects as typically African. Managed to get some private tours of several wineries through a Kiwi winemaker contact, now friend. This provided us with a dilemma as we had so much wine to drink (some given and some purchased) we had about two bottles per night to drink so ended up bringing some back and giving some away.

I hired a video cameraman to film the elephant hunting and he said he shot over 4 1/2 hours of film, and during the Namibian, Zimbabwean hunts and South African trip I took over 8 Gb (edited: corrected) of photos so lots of photos to go through. Will post some as I go through them and sort them out, delete them etc.
