James Gates is doing some nice work on slugs mimicing (even exceeding the old Paradox loads) at http://www.dixieslugs.com/

He's done a tremendous amount of testing out of rifled barrels, rifled choke tubes, and has a different paradox type slug for smooth bores. Pretty interesting stuff.
