Three years ago, a friend of mine used his .416 Rigby on his first ever African Safari, a plains game hunt in Namibia. He shot 8 animals with it, including a huge bull Giraffe. All were one shot kils. My last two hunts were plains game only hunts, and for them I used my .375. I took 9 shots, and killed 9 animals up to the size of Zebra. I know many hunters who have killed Cape Buffalo with both the 416, and the 375, so to my mind they are an excellent plains game/buff combo. Neither is "perfect" for the game at hand, but they will certainly do quite nicely. |
