I am very glad to see that we are all getting along better now. I started reading/posting on this sight to make new friends not enemies. Someone asked if the garretts were lead, the 540gr hammerhead is lead but I dont know what the percentage is. I am sure it has other metals in it perhaps tin or antimony, most hardcast bullets do. And I agree, ALL bovines are huge, I think maybe we got a little carried away, and were "splitting hairs" so to speak. Scott, I would love to go bison hunting with you and your friends. And I am greatly interested in seeing the difference. Although I am not doubting the bigger rounds "bring more to the party". FWIW I am leaving West Virginia in June to relocate to Lakewood, Colorado so that I can attend The Colorado School of Trades (I start on July 10th) and learn to be a gunsmith. I have decided that this will be my life (although I dont think I will ever be in any danger of becoming fabulously wealthy). I also have a goal of someday building a double in a classic NE caliber on a Ruger Gold Label frame (if I can get one). Anyways I thank all of you for your opinions and as always good hunting. P.S. Scott if your friends are ok with it just message me and well work out details and what not. |
