What was your closest call?

Not African, but how about being faced down by a cougar in open terrain and have the animal charge rapidly pressing the attack when--
the first shot from your Marlin lever action 45-70 handloaded ammo goes PLINK!! and you have to jack it out RAPIDO to shoot the next round at 7 yards to anchor the cat.

Thank goodness the second round of the handloaded ammo worked!! Blessings from above!! And I almost carried a Rem 742 semiauto that day--notorious for jamming, a jamomatic!!.
