Have only shot one Buff. Not my favorite game , in fact I really don't like to hunt them. Used a Mdl 70 375H&H and 300gr Woodleigh soft. Heart shot at about 40yds. Buff reared up on hind legs, went over backward and landed on back. Did not move at all. Totally uneventful. It was more interesting how we found the heard which we had been trying to find for 2 days. My PH saw a flock of Oxpeckers fly overhead and we followed them to herd. Tracked and set up for shot which I completely missed. Hit a 1" mopane and bullet just vanished. Did NOT spook the herd at all they just continued to feed. This was in the Gwaii of Zimbabwe. I really would use one of my 416Rigby's if I ever were to try for another one. I don't think anything bigger is necessary. But with only one taken I defer on that to those with more experience.
