Re: Scope problems in Africa

"I'm thinking about getting a Schmidt&Bender "Zenith" 1.1-4x24 with a Flashdot reticle. Have you tried them?"

Erik

I am no fan of Schmidt & B. Don't know why? Lack of advertising, lack of discount at the gunshop?
I think it lacks sex appeal. A weird answer isn't it? but it's what I think of.
I am most pleased with my S & B 1.25-4*20 whithout flashdot on my 300 Weatherby (along with a 1.5-6*42 conquest Zeiss, EAW mounts permit 2 or more scopes for a rifle). Both sturdy stuff......................... especially the eye piece.
These Schmidt & B are workhorses , good workers but nothing spicy or rejoicing.
Concerning glass quality, as I have told many times, I trust Swaro and my hunting partner/friend/optician is fully agreeing.
He told me LEICA is yet making Schmidt & B lenses, hence their (superior?) quality.

I repeat myself, the only scope failure I observed was with a cheap Bushnell. Yeah...but at this time my sister was working for Baush & Lomb.
