Yeah Nitro the Kasempa Lunga Luswishi game management area (6000 sq miles) and maybe the Kafue Flats and Bangweulu swamps. I am informed like our national park system; unfenced and only open for hunting 8 months of the year. But with many things you never know unless you go and see for yourself

Nope gryph no secrets just big time saving and no serious sambar hunts, just local etc. But i hope to be able to borrow a work gun at least !

The blue duiker is becoming a bit more of a hunted antelope of recent so my intended guide has informed me he will try a few techniques this season to try and help improve my chances, app. they can be called like red/fallow deer

I am grateful for all of your help

Sounds like a nice trip in the planning. I had a chance to hunt Zambia twenty years ago for next to nothing (compared to now), lion, buffalo and hippo plus plains game but couldn't take up the offer due to being too poor even at next to nothing prices. Something I would do 'yesterday' if offered it today.

I would like to hunt hippo on land oneday. They are very fast beasts over a short run and can be extremely dangerous if you get in their way.

A group of us approached a waterhole in Kenya and surpised a hippo on the shore in the bush. It moved with such speed. Another time I was on a boat on the Zambezi and we watched with sick fascination as a hippo was scared out of the bush from above and came at full speed for the river, with a black fisherman directly in his path. We yelled warnings and luckily the hippo changed course a bit and missed the fisherman. He had no idea what was headed his way until it was beside him and hitting the water.
