I would love to take on a hippo when we go to Tanzania this summer, but sadly it appears to be beyond my pay scale. I think hunting these things on dry ground is probably among the most exciting forms of hunting available. They are big, ill tempered, fast, and you know the action will be close, and the actual target area quite small. It would be right up there with going into the willows after a wounded bear - without the snow.
