Re: Nengasha Safaris, Zim AND Northern Omay region

Hi John,
As you know I have enjoyed two safari's to the Omay north communal area also known as Nyaminyami.
On my first eight day hunt I took one Dagger Boy, Impala, Wart Hog and a Zebra with PH Stuart Taylor based at the Fly camp in the Ndepa Hills area (wich no longer exists) and the Ume river camp. We also camped out on the Dete river and Sengwa river junction, sleeping out with our rifles by our sides (a great way to spend a few nights).
The second trip was a 2x1 hunt with Nengasha Safaris for two Buff, one cow Ele and plains game with some fishing and bird shooting as well, again with Stuart Taylor.
As the Ele were sold out in Omay we were to move on to Chirisa after taking our Buffalo.
On this trip we took two nice buff, one a 43" hard bossed Bull the other a gray old Dagger boy.
Omay has lots of Ele and has a great variety of terrain from thick Jesse bush to dry rugged hills with spring fed creeks.
Although september can be hot the winds off the lake are often cool and provide relief.
Your 450 Double should be good for the Ele and if you do not want to cart a scoped rifle over you could always borrow one if required.
Some good PH's for this area are Stuart and Mike Taylor, Paul Bennie, Paul Frodsham,Spike Classen, Deon Pistorius and Brian Bird.
Cheers,
Adam C.
