First of all, order "The Perfect Shot", by Robertson, and "African Hunter II", by Craig Boddington. Both of these titles are available from Safari Press:

If you plan to hunt duiker as well as hippo on the same safari, you could use a 375 H&H or 416 of some sort on those same animals. Just use solids, and you'll be able to break down your hippo in short order, plus that same solid load won't blow up your duiker. Solids can be really practical, versatile projectiles under the right circumstances. I wouldn't use them for most of the animals you'll hunt, but on the very big, thick-skinned, dangerous stuff as well as the very small stuff, solids can't be beat........
