Anybody try to get a handgun into Africa for their safari? I've contacted a couple of outfitters and am getting conflicting answers. Some are saying forget about it. Too much of a hassle. Others are saying as long as you make a case it's for hunting and not self defense customs will give you a pass on it. I'd really like it at my side as insurance for those moments in the tall grass when a rifle shot goes not as expected. Any stories out there on getting handguns into Africa. In particular I'm looking at Tanzania, RSA or possibly Namibia.
