I shoot frequently from a sitting bench and experience no pain. The largest double I have ever fired was a 577 NE. I usually only shoot 500 Jeffery Improved and 500 A Sqaure, both bolt guns weighing ~ 10.5 pounds. Twenty five to thirty rounds from the bench isn't painful, to the shoulder anyway. Now if you are talking about bleeding elbows and headaches that is a different story. I assumed you meant shoulder.
