Re: Definition of a DG Stunt Hunt

"I think using less than adequate methods of dispatching game, such as muzzle loaders, BP, low powered lever rifles, bowhunting etc all make it harder to dispatch the game. It certainly MAY make the hunt harder to accomplish. For me the 'stunt' part is being backed up by an adequate rifle, not doing it solo."

My point of view exactly. Doesn't matter how you kill the animal, if your not hunting solo then your stunt hunting, period. And in most of Africa, no client is going to be allowed to hunt without a PH and his NE rifle to back you up. So you might as well use spit balls and a straw. That being said, if there is anybody on the forum who is NOT a PH and has hunted DG in africa or elsewhere solo, stand up and be heard, because you are a REAL DG hunter. The rest of you are stunt hunters JUST LIKE ME AND MY BP ML and Marlin 1895 Lever Gun in 45-70! Would I hunt african DG with one of these solo...H--- NO! I'd use my A. Hollis in 500/450 or the Bonanza's 450#2 Jeffery.

But with a PH backing me up...I'd try paper clips and rubber bands...WHY NOT!
Prove me wrong anybody.

Thanks,
Colorado
