My eyes test at 20 -650 uncorrected. If I'm not mistaken, that's beyond legally blind.

Lazer surgery, and similar, have come a long way, but that still scares the bejeepers out of me. I know the surgery works as intended most of the time, but I've read too many stories where results have been less than expected, and in fact, created new problems. I'll stick with glasses.
