On my first trip I carried a 300 Wby. Mag. and a 375 H&H and it seemed like a perfect battery for plains game. Second trip I took a 338 and 458 Win. Mags for some plains game and buffalo. I am really torn between the 300 and the 338. The 338 is my favorite caliber and I enjoy carrying it but the 300 is no slouch either. Its tough. One or the other.
