For me .375 H&H and .375 H&H.
Seriously probably a 6.5 mm at the low end and a .375 H&H at the upper.
Probably a flat shooter like a 6.5x68 for the smaller plains game. Or a flat shooting .300 or 8x68S would be better. The Plain Jane .30-06 is what I actually took, but I do like a ittle more assurance.
The .375 will do it all.
