Yes, I understand, with my .416 Rigby I shoot short range ( in thick bush) like a long range (300 yard)and I use only one rifle during the safari. But with the .505 gibbs, the short range is good and maximum long range (160 yards), it's necessary a second rifle for plains games / I have in my permit: 1 Elephant, 1 lion and some antelopes.
I agree with you, this is the first shoot more important.
