Re: Is anyone hunting in Africa in 2023?

Rolf, thanks for the reply,

Alas a far from ideal trip.

Serial missing luggage. Stolen binoculars, Only got to shoot a gemsbok and not even the steaks could be eaten. Ffffing hell the total w@nkers !!!

I'd not be happy,

Better luck in 2026.

I don't know who if fly instead nowadays from Europe?

I usually try to carry binoculars, scopes, cameras, laptop etc in hand luggage. It does get heavy and can exceed the limit.

Was your luggage locked? How did they get to the binoculars.

So sorry the results of your first safari.

PS I've spent many hours in that Frankfurt airport. I remember looking at a big open door to the street outside and thinking, " I'm supposed to be in a secure are< but I n0 could just walk out and in?". Locked in the airport over night? Not pleasant. I once spent at least 15 to 20 hours in Auckland airport because of the Chilean airlines incompetence. But found due to renovations a room with chairs off the beaten path. Stretched out there for a sleep. By the end a couple of dozen other people doing the same. Got a $10 voucher from the airline for the inconvenience ...

Another time at Helsinki airport it was so late everything was closed, But did have a smoke in a smoking room with two pretty girls from the VIP room next door.

It's routine at Singapore airport to send 8 or more hours between flights. But they're set upmfornyounto spend money during that time.

PPS thanks for the comment non cloud services. Wasn't aware of that, I've always kept my photos on the device(s).

Better luck next safari.
