I've managed to pick up malaria 3 times, vivax thankfully. First time was on doxy in PNG so symptoms didn't present till a few months later back home. The carrier mozzies are present in Darwin so I had to quarantine. Subsequent infections I felt coming a mile away!

For me, doxycycline was just another word for flatulence!
