I say not so sure as, whatever the "poisoning agent" it does not seem to have affected other animals.

"It is possible other animals died from drinking from the waterholes, but bodies may not have been spotted from aerial surveys, and smaller carcasses could have already been taken by predators."

Yeah, taken by predators which apparently don't drink the water.
This whole story is just weird.




None of the predators appear to have died from secondary poisoning either.
