I have never shot a buffalo in an open area like this. That's why I have always asked myself why a wrong buffalo was not shot more often in the thick bush, which would be easier to explain especially when hunting near a herd. As one can see, something like that also seems to happen in open areas.
I don't think I would have confused the buffaloes on such a terrain, as there was also a difference in color of the skin. Nevertheless, I don't allow myself to make any judgments about the hunter, because such actions cause stress for many people and that's why the brain doesn't always deliver the expected performance. One must never say never, can happen to everybody.
