In reply to: mikeh416Rigby, I'm no expert when it comes to such things, but yes it was dry. I didn't really discuss in detail with our hosts how the drought was affecting the animals. My PH did mention that my large Kudu (56" one) was old and the drought had started to affect him when we were looking him over after he was down. He had some bones just starting to show around his hip area. But, I don't know if that was from the drought or just caused by age. Our hosts did mention that all of the natural water holes were dry and that they were relying on pumps to supply/fill four artifical water holes. Sorry I don't have more info. -Bob F. |
