Interesting story, especially the difficulties in getting it to shot. One of the chaps at the BGRC has an original Explora which is extremely accurate. But that was after a very long time developing loads and casting a number of different projectiles with slight differences. The problem with these ball and shot guns is that during the time they were actually used, ammunition was only available for your gun from the manufacturer of your gun. Therefore getting them to regulate can be very difficult as you need to be able to replicate the ammunition almost exactly. And minute differences seem to make a bigger change in one of these guns than a normal double. Matt. |
