I am not an Africa expert, but in Peter Capstick's biography of Wally Johnson, The Ivory Hunter, there are some newspaper clippings he has quoted from the 80's and 90's that hinted of cannibalism being alive and well in Africa. Also there are still a few scary places in Papau New Guinea I have heard about from friends that have worked the mines and etc. there.

Humans are a very pardoxial species, while being some of the most loving and gentle creatures to walk the face of the earth, we can also be the most brutal, violent and cruel animals toward each other.
