Great story. I have a father-in-law that's in the same boat, too old to move because its his home. We've tried to talk him into moving in with us many a time, he just won't hear of it!
I love the stubborn old bugger, stuck between a rock & a hard place, nothing else we can do until he changes his mind!
Ultimately he will.. or not..
My good friend who passed 16 months ago was like that..but finally gave in when he fell on the ice outside his home and almost froze to death.. funny how situations like that seem to throw in a dose of reality ..
Hopefully for your father in law, it will happen sooner than later
