A few weeks ago a Sunday midday movie was the old black and white, "Tarzan and the Leopard People" (or "Queen" {?}}. I'm not talking about the fictional character of "Tarzan" but the "Leopard people". Is there a basis for the story of the "Leopard People" ? **** I will explain a little. The Tarzan movie is one of the worst. Where Mexican's or whites with a little "colouring" masquerade as "African" natives. The usual anti-hunter line where the hunters or zoo animal catchers are evil and destroying the pretty wildlife which exists in harmony, where lions sit placidly with gazelle and chimpanzees are cute and cheeky animals, rather than vicious killers. But the "native" tribe in the story was a tribe of not so black "leopard people" ruled by a very white and pretty Queen. They wore leopard cloaks with hoods and carried clubs made with leopard claws. Any reality to this - I wonder ? |
