Two German scientists on the shores of Lake Victoria in 1906; somewhat unusual?
Not really because Tanganyka (now Tanzania), Burundi and Rwanda were part of the German East Africa colony, from 1885 until 1919. Following WW1's outcome, Tanganyka was administrated by the British and Rwanda & Burundi by the Belgian.
