I think Mike's stock and mine are similar in construction. Serengeti takes a solid blank and makes 5 "layers" from it. The two exterior layers are a bit thicker than the internal layers. The blank direction is reversed in the alternating layers. The stocks, if the blanks are properly selected, can be very nice.
