The injured guy is the assisting PH. He has fully recovered from another knowledgeable PHs comments online. Incident was about four years ago. I am not sure who the principal PH was in the videos. Not sure who the person with the jammed rifle was. It does happen. But there were enough rifles in that crew to do the business. There should be sound in the uploaded video(s). Will have to check. It is easy to be an expert commentator watching an internet video. But it just goes to show how quick a lion can be. I think the shot on the lion when the attack was still underway showed restraint and caution. Instead of instantly firing when the guys body or head could have been hit, the shooter waited until the lion was clear of the guy before firing. I thought that was well done. As for the lion lying there and still moving, well one guy asked abother to shoot it. I assume it was the PH helping the injured guy who noticed the lion was still moving and asked someone to shoot it again. I would have to watch it again to see how much the lion was moving, because I thought it was moving (from nerves) just as much after the shot before the guy, probably the client, shot it again and was told it was enough. Easy to be cool and collected watching a video. And re-watching it. Happens all in split seconds in real life and shit happens. |
